whats new
man am i glad i write this newsletter at the end of the month and not during. i think i have cracked the code to my mental health and i think its pmdd. google it idk. my therapist is making me track my cycle with my mood and my pcp offered me antidepressants but i am going to a psychiatrist instead because i cant risk triggering my fake brain tumor. its actually crazy to go from being inconsolable and depressed to pretty good and normal within days. anyways. august was weird. like a weird in between period where i finally got everything figured out and settled and now i am just waiting to reap the benefits of my hard work and suffering. my new roomies have moved in :) tess is in dc :( my iud is working :) my union still doesn’t have a contract :( i had a good job interview :) i had to end my slut summer early and stop dating :( i start classes soon :) starting over again exactly a year later feels kind of overwhelming but i know its for the better (or whatever phoebe bridgers said).first weekend of august was lolla but i already posted about that. was so awesome and fun.
i went to milwaukee again! it was eva’s birthday party and i had. a time? not eva’s fault. i was already pretty depressed before i got to mke and the last time i was there was on valentine’s day with my ex so. not a good place to be when you’re already depressed. but eva and her friends were lovely and awesome and i had a blast until my social battery ran out and i sobbed uncontrollably for like 2 hours and then went to bed. fun! and then i also cried some more on the beach the next day. yay?
tess and i did the architecture boat tour! our last outing together before they moved away forever (tess come home i miss you). we got some really cute pictures and also a mild sunburn and learned about the chicago skyline.
i went to squirrel flower’s album release show for free!! in humboldt park. chicago music scene is goated because this is the second free show i saw in august for an artist i actually listen to. i went with camille and her friends who i’d met earlier that month too. we couldn’t really see and just listened but it was nice to be outside and listen to good music.
ZORA CAME HOME!!! we went to welcome back lounge at midnight for our free hotdogs and the whistler for dancing and ranch waters. also we pregamed with the best board
game ever (rummikub). also shoutout zora and aman for helping me take out the month’s worth of recycling i had been too depressed to take out (and no one else i lived with wanted to take out i guess).

i went to the dentist finally and am no longer bleeding from my mouth when i brush my teeth. swag. i also went thrifting after and got a lot of houseware items because i don’t own anything in my apartment and it was so empty once everyone removed their stuff. i also found many things on facebook marke

i moved rooms! i am now in a smaller room but i pay less rent #yay. also my projector lives in my room now. i also have two new roommates who i am very excited to live with. and soon two bunnies!!! honestly very excited although anxious about starting this new chapter. still need to decorate (clearly).
also. i found a stray cat on our porch. i am fostering him until camille’s friend can adopt him. he is perfect and so sweet. i am going to miss him dearly but i have so little patience and money for a cat so its for the best.

so much new music this month from my new faves and longtime faves too. we got new phoebe bridgers album, new troye sivan single, and two new remi wolf singles. also new underscores single unlimited love has been on repeat. also listened to a lot of jane remover this month as well after spotting her at lolla lol.
now watching:
i saw teenage sex and death at camp miasma @ the music box theatre. they had some guy play the organ in the intermission it was so welcoming and beautiful. i also finished my modern family rewatch and started watching shameless. honestly im just waiting for the pitt and yellowjackets to come back.
